Associate of Applied Science in Administrative Assistant
Growing up in Healdsburg, California Naomi Paul wasn’t very fond of school and ultimately ended up dropping out of high school. Later she married and she and her husband, along with their two small children, relocated to the Yakima Valley. Naomi decided to attend YVCC to earn her GED. She then spent much of her working life in various retail positions. Several years later an opportunity opened at YVCC and she was hired to work part-time in the Adult Basic Education division. She held this position for several years while still working in the retail industry. “Working at YVCC made me realize how much I loved office work,” stated Naomi Paul. She decided to make a career change. Paul enrolled at YVCC in the fall of 2011 to pursue an associate of applied science degree in administrative assistant. “I loved YVCC’s program, especially all of the amazing instructors,” she concluded. Paul graduated in June of 2013 and is proud of her accomplishments in the classroom completing her degree with a 4.0GPA. Paul works at the Yakima Valley Farmworkers Clinic in Toppenish as a provider enrollment specialist.
