Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Kylie McCluskey moved with her family to the Spokane Valley while she was in high school. Following her high school graduation she relocated to Yakima so that she would be able to attend YVCC’s Veterinary Technology Program. Suffering with dyslexia, McCluskey always struggled in school, however she found success in YVCC’s program due to a team of dedicated faculty. “What I liked most about YVCC’s program were my instructors. They really pushed me to do the best I could,” stated McCluskey. “School has never been easy for me. If I needed extra help with something they always offered extra help to make sure I understood,” she continued. “I would definitely recommend this program to others. I honestly can’t believe how much I have learned in the past two years. The program is not easy by any means, it was actually one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it was so worth it,” she concluded. Kylie graduated this June with an associate of applied science in veterinary technology. Following graduation she began working at the University of Washington Medical Research Center as a veterinary technician.
