Associate of Applied Science in Civil Engineering Technology 

Eduardo Sanchez was born in Mexico City. In 2009 Sanchez came to the lower Yakima Valley and began working in agriculture with plans to return to Mexico. During this time he enrolled at YVCC’s Sunnyside Learning Center taking English as a second language classes. Encouraged by his instructor, Eduardo decided to stay in the valley and earned his GED through Heritage University. After completing his GED he decided to enroll at YVCC to pursue a degree in Engineering. “I really like the engineering program at YVCC. I especially like the field trips as they provide hands-on experience,” stated Sanchez. Proud of his accomplishments, Sanchez is grateful for the opportunities he has received at YVCC.  “I’m really proud of myself,” continued Sanchez. “I am the first in my family to attend college. I wouldn’t have been able pursue a degree without YVCC,” he concluded.
